VIO Migration and Fixpack updation Plan (day by day)

==> Day-1 (Migrate VIO version from 1.5 to 2.1 on 1st VIO)

1. Have to configure NIM.
2. Break the rootvg mirror
3. Create alt-disk for rootvg
4. Check bootlist & Note down alt-disk location (i.e. lscfg -vl hdisk6)
5. Upgrade VIO from 1.5 to 2.1 (Boot in SMS mode then Migrate)
6. Fix the missing PV's issue on all VIO Client.

==> Day-2 (Applying the Fixpack on 1st VIO)

1. Upload the Fix pack from vio-18 (vio-18:/software/fixpack.tar)
2. Apply the fixpack
3. Reboot it.
4. Fix the missing PV issue on all VIO Client.

==> Day-3 (Migrate VIO version from 1.5 to 2.1 on 2nd VIO)

1. Have to configure NIM.
2. Break the rootvg mirror
3. Create alt-disk for rootvg
4. Check bootlist & Note down alt-disk location (i.e. lscfg -vl hdisk6)
5. Upgrade VIO from 1.5 to 2.1 (Boot in SMS mode then Migrate)

==> Day-4 (Applying the Fixpack on 2nd VIO)

1. Upload the Fix pack from vio-18 (vio-18:/software/fixpack.tar)
2. Apply the fixpack
3. Remove the alt_disk (i.e. alt_install_disk -X)
4. Set / Check bootlist. (i.e. hdisk0 & hdisk6 should be there)
5. Fix the missing PV issue on all VIO Client.
6. Remirror & Reboot only 2nd VIO.
7. Fix the missing PV issue on all VIO Client.

Now on 1st VIO:
1. Remove the alt_disk (i.e. alt_install_disk -X)
2. Set / Check bootlist. (i.e. hdisk0 & hdisk6 should be there)
3. Fix the missing PV issue on all VIO Client.
4. Remirror & Reboot only 1st VIO.
5. Fix the missing PV issue on all VIO Client.

Note : Never ever reboot both VIO at same time, and also if disk is in missing state on any of VIO clients.
If you are sure that one VIO is up and running fine and no disk missing, then only go ahead and reboot another VIO.
